Solid-insulated, fully enclosed switchgear is a type of switchgear in which solid insulation materials serve as the primary insulating medium. The vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers, conductive connections, disconnect switches, earthing switches, main busbars, branch busbars, and other major conductive circuits are either individually or in combination encapsulated within a solid insulating medium, forming one or more functionally integrated modules that are fully insulated and fully sealed. These modules can be further reconfigured or expanded as needed. The surfaces of the modules that are accessible to personnel are coated with a conductive or semi-conductive shielding layer and are directly and reliably grounded, constituting a ring-main unit.

All main circuit modules that are touchable and within easy reach of a single operator are equipped with a grounding grid, coated with a conductive shielding layer, and directly and reliably grounded. This eliminates risks during non-essential maintenance, ensuring absolute safety for users during operation and maintenance.
