35kV Combined Transformer for Wind Power Generation

A modular transformer for wind power generation is a transformer that integrates the high-voltage step-up transformer core, switchgear, fuses, tap changers, and associated auxiliary equipment into a single unit. Both the high-voltage switchgear and fuses are housed within the oil tank, resulting in a compact overall footprint. Its structural configuration is similar to the pad-mounted transformers introduced from the United States in the 1990s, and it is commonly referred to in the industry as “wind-power American-style transformer.”

Case Description

Structural Features

ZGSZ: The modular transformer for wind power applications consists of three sections: the high-voltage compartment, the transformer body, and the low-voltage compartment, arranged in a “well” or “L” configuration. The high-voltage live parts and high-voltage cables are separated by individual partitions and equipped with electromagnetic locking devices to facilitate installation and maintenance; the high-voltage load switch is a two-position oil-immersed type.

The product features plug-in, full-range protective fuses for protection, with the high-voltage assembly housed in the same oil tank as the transformer core. The transformer core adopts a common-tank design, with high- and low-voltage bushings arranged on the side for convenient direct connection to high- and low-voltage switchgear. The plug-in fuses are mounted on the top of the transformer core, effectively reducing the installation footprint. Radiators are installed on the sides of the transformer core, providing excellent heat dissipation; they can be configured either as open-type or closed-type units. The unit is completely leak-proof, with each tank undergoing a 50 kPa/12-hour sealing test to ensure tight oil-tank sealing and zero leakage. For the high-voltage side, a common-tank, combined-type transformer with dry-type bushings is employed, offering easy wiring, accommodating a large number of high-voltage incoming and outgoing circuits, and maintaining low costs. The equipment enclosure is coated using a rigorous painting process, delivering outstanding outdoor weather resistance. Additionally, the transformer is equipped with a dedicated cooling system that ensures efficient heat dissipation.
